ABOUT
About A-Sun Truth
An early-career mechanical engineer working at the intersection of materials, manufacturing, and practical problem-solving.
Analytical thinking. Hands-on engineering.
I’m A-Sun Truth, a mechanical engineer with experience supporting NAVAIR / NAWCAD materials work and a completed industrial engineering workforce development rotation at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest.
My background combines polymer and composite materials, additive manufacturing, mechanical testing, CAD, and manufacturing support. I connect design decisions to fabrication, test evidence, cost, schedule, configuration control, and readiness.
In the laboratory, that means specimen preparation, load-displacement analysis, and documented failure modes. In manufacturing, it means feasibility reviews, tooling development, fit checks, and practical responses to shop-floor needs.
I bring technical curiosity and an early-career perspective—not claims of seniority or authority beyond my experience.

Professional training includes DAU acquisition coursework, Advanced Composite Repair and Fabrication, MTS TestSuite TW, Stratasys Insight, polymer AM systems, and composite fabrication/repair.
My NAVAIR-sponsored senior design project connected Taguchi experimental design with ULTEM 9085 fabrication, mechanical testing, and microCT review.
Read the senior design case study →Materials. Methods. Manufacturing systems.
My technical interests include design for additive manufacturing, polymer materials characterization, process optimization, tooling and fixtures, and software-supported manufacturing visibility.
Remote AM monitoring research with an Ender-3, OctoPrint, Node-RED, and SQLite complements my hands-on manufacturing experience.
